Marine Macroalgae for Assessment of Radionuclide and Heavy Metal Pollution in the Black Sea
نویسندگان
چکیده
Radionuclide and heavy metal content have been monitored systematically since 1996 in eleven of the widespread Black Sea macroalgae species from the Bulgarian Black Sea coast by low level gamma spectroscopy and atomic absorption spectrometry. Tendencies in the concentration variations during the studied period are examined and all obtained data give information about different macrophytic species ability to accumulate certain nuclides and trace elements from one and the same sampling location. The obtained data are compared with the results from the regions of the Black Sea, Mediterranean, Tyrrhenian and Atlantic Ocean

Assessment of Accumulation and Potential Health Risk of Cr, Mn, Fe, Cu, and Zn in Fish from North-Eastern Mediterranean Sea
Heavy metal accumulation in aquatic organisms has been an important issue due to environmental pollution resulting from anthropogenic activities. In this study, Cr, Mn, Fe, Cu, and Zn in the selected fish species (Mullus barbatus, Solea solea, and Siganus rivulatus) from three consecutive bays (İskenderun, Mersin, and Antalya from North-Eastern Mediterranean Sea) were considered to provide some...

متن کاملReview of Heavy Metal Accumulation in Aquatic Environment of Northern East Mediterrenean Sea Part II: Some Non-Essential Metals
Heavy metals that enter marine environment and remain in the water as well as the sediments are accumulated by aquatic organisms, thus becoming highly good indicators to monitor metal accumulation in the long run. Metals are potentially harmful to humans and most organisms at varied levels of exposure and absorption. Northern East Mediterranean Sea is a crucial region as it is an area, shared b...

Concentrations of lead, copper, cadmium, and mercury were determined in sediments and two selected marine organisms (Cynoglossus arel and Panulirus homarus) collected from Jask Port, Darak Port, Pozm Port, Gulf of Chabahar and Gowatr Port in the north coasts of the Oman Sea during pre (spring) and post (autumn) monsoon in 2017. Heavy metals concentrations were determined by atomic absorption sp...
